The deceased was born Oct 1st, 1819 in South Wales, dying on May 28, 1914 at the advanced age of 94 years 8 months. Coming from New York State to White Rock, Ill, in 1842 where he engaged in farming until coming to Arlington in 1884, where he has since made his home. The deceased was born Oct 1st, 1819 in South Wales, dying on May 28, 1914 at the advanced age of 94 years 8 months. Coming from New York State to White Rock, Ill, in 1842 where he engaged in farming until coming to Arlington in 1884, where he has since made his home. He was married to Miss Hannah Campbell at Illinois in 1847, to which union were born six children, John D residence unknown; Fin C, who died at his home near Scott in May 1911; Mrs Margaret Feake of Grand Junction, Iowa; Henry C of Stanley; Mrs Louis Conkey of Oelwein and Miss Martha Hoy of Mt Pulaski, Ill. Mrs James dying Dec 15 1881. Mr James married Mrs Carpenter of Fayette in 1883 who also passed to the great beyond a few years later. In Oct 1901 he was united in marriage to Miss Lillian Roberts, who with the surviving children mourn the loss of a loving husband and father, all of whom were present at the funeral with the except of John and Mrs Feake. Mr James always enjoyed fairly good health and was a very pleasing man to meet. The funeral was held from the house May 30 1914, conducted by Elder J C Moore of Wadena. Interment in Taylorville cemetery. May he rest in peace.
