His father then married Flora M Thompson in 1922. --------------- Lewis Printy was born in Plano, Iowa on May 27, 1924 to Melvin and Flora (Thompson) Printy. Lewis attended North Bend and Timothy Ridge country schools until the eighth grade. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII from 1945 to 1946. Lewis was very proud of serving his country and shared his respect of the U.S. Flag with this family. On April 10, 1949, he was united in marriage to Vera King. They were blessed with there children: Debbie, Russell and Raymond. Lewis and Vera loved their family and led by example. They were always faithful in supporting and attending their church, the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church and in later years the Grace Baptist Church and supported missions in programs such as the mission cow where one calf each year went to missions. Lewis enjoyed farming and especially his horses. He rode horses in many parades and led several Russell Homecoming Parades. He thought the prettiest sound ever was of a Tennessee Walker gaiting on concrete. Lewis was a tender hearted man who loved his family. He was also a cowboy in that no one was to touch his Stetson Hat. In January of 2001, Lewis married Ethel Prough. They made their home in Chariton and continued to faithfully serve the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, in 1999 his parents and his siblings: Alvin, Charles, Maxine, Mervin, Ruby, Pat, and Robert Lewis passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 in Chariton at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of Chariton; children: Debbie & Bob Reagan of Cameron, MO; Russell & Cindy Printy of Centerville; Raymond & Dorrie Printy of Chariton; 11grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Anna Lou Swan of Pomerpu. Peggy Hartman of Athens, GA and Berneice King of Chariton. Funeral services were held at the Pierschbach Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial was in the Brushy Cemetery near Plano.
