D 1, July 30-The funeral of Lewis Sampson Dodd who was killed in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, was held from the Beech Grove Christian Church of which he was a member, at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, with interment in the family burial ground. Sam, as he was familiarly known to all was the youngest son of Mrs. Hattie Matheny Dodd and the late Kelly C. Dodd. He was born December 6, 1915. D 1, July 30-The funeral of Lewis Sampson Dodd who was killed in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, was held from the Beech Grove Christian Church of which he was a member, at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, with interment in the family burial ground. Sam, as he was familiarly known to all was the youngest son of Mrs. Hattie Matheny Dodd and the late Kelly C. Dodd. He was born December 6, 1915. Besides his mother, the deceased is survived by two brothers, Saylor Dodd of Lynchburg, and Jack Dodd of Waynesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Violet Dodd Fitzgerald of Lynchburg, and Mrs. Robert Dungan of Waynesboro; an aunt, Miss Emma Dodd, with whom he made his home, and numerous other relatives. Active pallbearers, all cousins of the deceased, were Worthy Thompson, Layman Dodd, Jacob Quick, Guy Towler, Martin Dodd and Luther McGann Jr. The flowers which were numerous and beautiful, were carried by the following girls, all members of his class in Sunday School: Misses Thelma Campbell, Audrey Falls, Agnes Fields, Joyce Fitzgerald, Edith Fields, Eugene McGann, Doris Campbell, Marion Fields and Ruth Shirley Fields.
