Read More	married May 1, 1917 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lida Howard, one of nine children of Daniel and Lucy (Davidson) Webb, was born near Manchester, in Clay County, Kentucky, on January 23, 1902, and passed away Thursday, April 6, 1995, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 14 days. The family moved to a farm near Hardy, Nebraska, when she was a small child. She attended rural school at Blaine Center. In 1917, Lida met and married Selby T. Howard in Nelson. This union was blessed with a son, Keith. Lida had a garden when she was on the farm and spent a lot of time doing farm chores. She was a member of the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson. When failing health forced a move from her home, Lida became a resident of Nelson Good Samaritan Center on July 21, 1990. She was a very friendly warm lady. Lida loved visiting with other residents, watching TV and she would always greet you with a quick smile and a friendly "Hello". Preceding her in death were her parents, Dan and Lucy; her husband, Selby, on August 28, 1973; her son, Keith, on July 31, 1978; two brothers, Phelix and John Webb; five sisters, Lizzie Dezarn, Mabel White, Della Lissman, Elsie Anderson and Stella Klawitter; a half brother, Sam Webb; and a half sister, Mary Powell. Survivors include one brother, William Webb and his wife Laura of Pierre, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, 1995, at 2 p.m. from the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska, with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided by soloist Carl Shambaugh singing How Great Thou Art with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Garth Melvin, Harlan Meyer, Marvin Oltmans, Gordon Farver, Bob Eilers and Paul Statz. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery.
