Description	:	Lila E. Pearson, age 87, of Hayti, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at her residence. She was the widow of Leslie Brenden and Earl Pearson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Hayti Lutheran Church in Hayti. Rev. Randy Eisenbeisz will officiate. Music will be provided by Lisa Pedersen as organist with congregational singing. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Hayti, SD. Active pallbearers will be Lila's grandsons: Darren Sommervold, Joseph Russell, Jon Russell, Travis Brenden, Wade Brenden, Austin Brenden, Josh Yosten and Daine Pearson. Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Hayti on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Thursday. Lila was born on December 16, 1925, at Willow Lake, SD, to Carl and Mabel (Larson) Ladwig. On November 25, 1944, Lila married Leslie Brenden. To this union, five children were born. Leslie passed away on April 19, 1959. Lila married Earl Pearson on December 1, 1962. The couple farmed in the Hayti area and together had one more child. They moved into Hayti when they retired in 2001. Earl passed away on April 18, 2008. She was a member of Hayti Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Lila enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning, playing cards and cooking, especially for others. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Lila is survived by six children: Charlene Sommervold of Sioux Falls, SD, Judie (Joe) Russell of Norfolk, NE, Dennis (Roxie) Brenden of Watertown, SD, Donald (Beth) Brenden of Norfolk, NE, Darla (Lee) Conrad of Yankton, SD, and Merle Pearson (Tina Nielsen) of Hayti, SD; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Brown, of Bryant, SD; and her special friend, Lucille Blashill, of Hayti, SD. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, one great-grandson, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
