Memorial graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday December 7, 2011 at the Murray Cemetery in Murray. Pastor Charles Spindler will officiate. Lila Kay White, daughter of Mary Etta (Logan) Hanke and Merlo Dallas Hanke was born June 9, 1943 in Newton, Iowa. She moved to Chicago in the ninth grade, and graduated from West Chicago High School in 1961. On December 24, 1964, Lila married Bernie Lewis White in Batavia, Ill. She lived in Batavia and worked for Portable Tool, before moving to Newton, then Clinton, Illinois for a time, before moving to Des Moines. Lila lived and worked in Arizona for two years. She moved to Thayer, and began working at Bunn-O-Matic in 1977. She divorced in 1983, and moved to Creston. Lila was a member of Crest Baptist Church in Creston. Lila is survived by her daughter, Linda (husband Gene) Fry of Creston and a son, Ron (wife Angela) White of Creston; four grandchildren, Daniel and Sara Ann Brown, Amanda Fannon and Christina White; two great-grandchildren, Addison Fannon and Elizabeth Englund; a sister, Beverly Dodd of New Port Richey, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Tom Britt of Thayer. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Darrell Hanke and two sisters, Marilyn Rivers and Vyrlee Britt.
