Read More	Lila Mae (Jones) Millheim November 7, 1929 ~ June 29, 2013 (age 83) Lila Mae Millheim, 83, lifelong Ashland resident, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her residence. She was born November 7, 1929, in Redhaw, to the late Willard and Mabel(Bishop) Jones. On November 1, 1952 in Redhaw, Lila married the love of her life, Chester “Chet” Millheim and shared over 60 wonderful years together. She was the produce manager at Gerwig’s White Barn Market in Ashland for 27 years until she retired. Lila and Chet owned and operated Millheim Machinery for many years. Everyone knew that the kitchen was Lila’s domain. In it, she created many signature recipes that were impossible to duplicate because she always added that little extra love into it. No one was allowed to leave her home on an empty stomach; it was demanded you eat, especially chocolate chip cookies. Lila’s hands were those of a doer. Her and Chet planted and cared for a plentiful garden every year. When it was time to harvest the garden, she spent countless hours and days canning and freezing. She also loved working out in the yard and her flower beds. She was a strong woman that conquered many obstacles during her life. Lila taught her family to live life to the fullest; stay strong and that anything you put your mind to can be accomplished. We are all blessed to have known such a loving and caring woman as our wife, our mom, and our grandma. Survived by husband, Chester; daughter, Sonya (Don) Beach of New London; son, Matt (Karen) Millheim of Ashland; grandchildren: Heidi (Bob) Maloy, Holly (Ray) Barber, Charley (Jaime) King, Elizabeth (John) Rogers, and Kelsey (Matt) Puster; 9 great grandchildren; and siblings, Evelyn Gongwer, Virginia (George) Smith, and Marge (Dick) Yeagle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Viola (John) Luedy, brothers: Harold Jones and Willard “Bill” Jones; and father and mother-in-law, Gene and Ruth Millheim.
