She taught Sunday School to a group of young girls at the age of 16. After she married Oscar Garner in 1941, they moved to the Oakland Community, in Union County, South Carolina. She became involed in Fairforest Baptist Church. She served as Junior Department Director for many years. She was also the Baptist Young Women's Leader and Vacation Bible School worker. She taught Sunday School to a group of young girls at the age of 16. After she married Oscar Garner in 1941, they moved to the Oakland Community, in Union County, South Carolina. She became involed in Fairforest Baptist Church. She served as Junior Department Director for many years. She was also the Baptist Young Women's Leader and Vacation Bible School worker. During the blood drive of World War II, she was the first woman to give a gallon of blood in Union County to the "Gallon Club." She helped organize the Senior Citizens of Union County, serving as the first president. Her hobbies include traveling and sewing. She made over 250 bonnets for the Senior Citizens Center to sell. She's missed by everyone that knew her.
