She worked in the picking and packing of fruit in the Orondo area prior to her marriage to Henry N. Brandt at Waterville on Aug. 26, 1933. Their first home was south of Orondo. She lived in four homes after her marriage, all within one-quarter mile of each other. Lillian was an avid gardener and a member of the Orondo Ladies Club. Survivors include a son and his wife, Gordon and Jane Brandt of Orondo; a daughter and her husband, Sherry and William Crabb of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a brother, Robert Gormley of Wenatchee; a sister, Ethel Lamp of Seattle; grandchildren, Patrick Brandt of Orondo, Douglas Brandt and Becky Brandt, both of Seattle, Mardith Vargo of Plymouth, Mich., and Steven Crabb of Germantown, Md.; and great-grandchildren, Adam Brandt and Emily Brandt, both of Orondo, and Glen Vargo and Greg Vargo, both of Plymouth, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Henry, in October of 1966, her parents and numerous brothers and sisters. Arrangements are by the Waterville Funeral Home. LILLIAN I. BRANDT -- A service of commemoration will be conducted for Lillian I. Brandt, 96, of Orondo at 11:00 a.m., Monday morning, January 12, 1998, in the Orondo Community Presbyterian Church, Pastor John Rogers will officiate. If desired, memorials may be made to the Orondo Fire Department or to the Orondo Community Presbyterian Church in Lillian's name. Arrangements are by the Waterville Funeral Home.
