Description	:	Funeral services for Lillian L. Choat, 71, of Albion, were held Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1985 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, Rev. Don Wilken officiated with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery. She died Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Friendship Villa in Spalding. Church organist was Mrs. Carol Wilken with Lynn Iverson as soloist. Casket bearers were Benje Hookstra, William, Reginald, Jr., David and Daniel Dobson, and Richard Martinsen. Lillian L. Dobson, daughter of William H. and Linda (Hoferer) Dobson, was born Aug. 2, 1914 at Primrose. She grew up in the Primrose and Cedar Rapids area where she attended Boone County School Dist. #14 and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1932. She continued her education by attending teacher’s college at Hebron. Upon completing her education she began teaching school in Boone County. On Feb. 4, 1939, Lillian married Willis Whitten at Papillion. The couple lived and farmed west of Primrose until Willis’ death in May of 1964, when Lillian moved into Albion. On Dec. 23, 1964, Lillian married Clarence Choat at Creighton. The couple lived and worked together until the death of Clarence on August 20, 1984. Since June of 1985, Lillian has been a resident of Friendship Villa in Spalding. Lillian was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. She was also a long-time member of the Kitchen Klatter Klub, VFW and American Legion Auxiliary and Friends of Music. She is survived by three brothers, Seth Dobson of Spalding, Rolland of Cedar Rapids and Reginald of Primrose; four step-children, Gary, Lynn and Duane Choat, all of St. Edward, and Alan Choat of Albion; 12 step-grandchildren and one step great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, Willis Whitten and Clarence Choat and one infant brother. (Albion News – Albion, Nebraska – October 2, 1985)
