Description	:	Lillian Marie Christensen, the daughter of Hans and Leontine (Jensen) Hansen, was born on February 11, 1919 on a farm near Hardy, Nebraska. She passed away on February 3, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 23 days. Lillian was one of seven children, she attended Riber Elementary School and graduated from Hardy High School. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Hans Christensen on February 22, 1941 in Ruskin, Nebraska. This union was blessed with three children. Lillian grew up in the Hardy area, and after graduating she worked for a time in Omaha, Nebraska. She moved back and made Abdal and Nelson communities her home before moving to Nelson, Nebraska in 1994. Due to her health she entered the Nelson Good Samaritan Center on July 20, 2000 where she resided until her death. She was a homemaker raising her family. She also worked in multiple departments in the Nuckolls County Courthouse before retiring. Lillian was very active in many organizations including, the Abdal Club, Eureka Club, Bethal Lutheran Ladies Aid, Director of the Nuckolls County Women?s Chorus, Director of the Salem Lutheran Church Choirs, and was the organist at Bethal Lutheran and Salem Lutheran Churches. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Johannes, Rudolph and Olaf Hansen and three sisters, Christina Christiansen, Florence Overton, and Julia Pedersen, and twin great granddaughters, Bailey and Sydney Sullivan. Survivors include her husband Hans of Nelson, Nebraska; one son, Roger and wife Nadine of Fairfax, Virginia, and two daughters, Janell Hanson and husband Alfred of Oak, Nebraska and Joyce Rall and husband Pat of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren, John Christensen, Robert Christensen, Teresa Sullivan, Jennifer Hanson and Taye Mohler; and 10 great-grandchildren: Sarah Christensen, Jabe, Jack, Mads, and Coleman Christensen, Mattison and John Sullivan, Jack, Tayeand Ava Mohler; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Barbara Bauer officiating. Music was Just A Closer Walk With Thee, and Whispering Hope, with Angela Garver as soloist and DeeAnn Petersen as organist. Pallbearers were John Christensen, Patricia Christensen, Robert Christensen,Courtney Christensen, Matthew Sullivan, Teresa Sullivan, Jennifer Hanson, Todd Mohler, and Taye Mohler. Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
