Description	:	Lillian Mary (Arend) Breidenbaugh, 99, of Hicksville, Ohio, died peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2014, surrounded by family members at Community Health Professionals In-patient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio. Born on April 16, 1915 in Mark Center, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Mary Louise (Martin) and the late William Matthew Arend. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Mark Center High School in 1933. She worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana before marrying LaVon Bernard Breidenbaugh on April 24, 1939. Read More	Lillian Mary (Arend) Breidenbaugh, 99, of Hicksville, Ohio, died peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2014, surrounded by family members at Community Health Professionals In-patient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio. Born on April 16, 1915 in Mark Center, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Mary Louise (Martin) and the late William Matthew Arend. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Mark Center High School in 1933. She worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana before marrying LaVon Bernard Breidenbaugh on April 24, 1939. Lillian and Lavon were married sixty-one years before LaVon’s death on April 14, 2001. Lillian was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hicksville, was active in the Altar Rosary Society and Social Club, and for many years served as Eucharist Minister. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed crafting handmade gifts and baking “Grandma’s little cookies” for her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her children, Robert (Alice) Breidenbaugh of Hicksville; Sandra Redden of Harlan, Indiana; L. Paul (Shirley) Breidenbaugh of Ney, Ohio; and Edward Breidenbaugh of Hicksville, who has been her loving caregiver when her health declined; her sister, Vivian Mullaney of San Francisco, California; her brother, Ivan (Betty) Arend of Dunedin, Florida; her sister-in-law Marie (Wesley) Dick of Ft. Wayne; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one unborn great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and several cousins. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Paula Breidenbaugh and Bernadette Adiego; her sisters, Pauline Arend, Rita Marshall, Teresa Hertel, and Mabelle Arend; and her brothers, Eugene Arend and Lewis Arend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Michaels Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 -8:00 with a Scripture/Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. She will be laid to rest at Forest Home Cemetery in Hicksville.
