Description	:	Lillian Meyer, 98, of Pocahontas, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Pocahontas Manor, Pocahontas. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas with Fr. Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery near Gilmore City. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, at Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas. She was the daughter of John and Pauline (Hronek) Kraska. She attended country school and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1928. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught country school near Pocahontas, Pioneer and in Rolfe. On June 16, 1948, Lilliam married John Meyer at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pioneer. Lilliam returned to teaching in the late 1960s at Corpus Christi School in Fort Dodge where she taught for seven years. In the early 1980s they moved to Humboldt. John passed away in 1985. In 1996, Lillian moved to Pocahontas. Lillian was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church and the Ladies Society. She enjoyed crocheting, writing in her journal and walking on her treadmill. Survivors include her stepdaughters, Margart Ann Fawaz of Apple Valley, CA, Mary Rose Conlon of St. Peter, MN, and Carol (Dale) Thompson of Badger; 12 grandchildren; brother, Emanuel Kraska of Pocahontas; and sister Dolores Hahn of Iowa City. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, infant brother, George; sisters, Pauline Snavely and Esther Hansen and two grandchildren.
