Krska died at the home of his parents November 7, 1917, had he lived until November 21st he would have been twenty month old. He was sent home from the hospital in Storm Lake last Sunday, November 4th, and seemed to be getting along nicely until Monday the little fellow started to get worse and suffered terrible until death relieved him, blood poisoning having set in. Krska died at the home of his parents November 7, 1917, had he lived until November 21st he would have been twenty month old. He was sent home from the hospital in Storm Lake last Sunday, November 4th, and seemed to be getting along nicely until Monday the little fellow started to get worse and suffered terrible until death relieved him, blood poisoning having set in. Funeral services were held from St. Peter and Paul's church Friday morning at ten o'clock, Father Kramer conducting the services and the remains laid to rest in Calvary cemetery east of town. There are left to mourn besides the father and mother two sisters, Pauline and Lillian and a large number of friends and relatives. The Democrat extends sympathy to this family in the loss of their beloved one. Mr. and Mrs. Krska and family wish to thank the neighbors and friends for their assistance and kindness during the illness and death of their son. Transcribed by Teresa Davis Eighty-four years later, his sister, Lillian, recalls: "While George was in the hospital the nurse forgot to change his bandaging and gangrene set in. George was sent home to die. I remember mother telling myself and Pauline to watch him and when we saw him jerk a little that meant that he had taken his last breath and died. So we stood there watching him in his cradle and we saw him jerk a little and he died. I will never forget that."
