Mrs. O'Shields was born in Union, June 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Charlie and Inez Foster Moore. She was retired from Milliken & Co., Monarch Plant, and was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School of over 40 years. She was retired from Milliken & Co., Monarch Plant, and was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School of over 40 years. Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Linda Carter and husband, Floyd, of Union; two sons, Larry K. O'ShieldS and wife Jerry, and Frank O'Shields and wife, Ramoth, all of Union; two sisters, Essie Williford and Ola Jean Kelly, both of Union; one brother, Billy Moore of Union; 15 grandchildren Kim and Greg Lawson, Jan Black, Kelli and Rob Dunn, Allison and Jamey Waters, Brad and Stephanie Goodale, Christy Bledsoe, Laura O'Shields, Alan Hines, Scotty Hines, Jan Hines, Jimmy and Amy Fowler, Ann Harrison, Gina and Tim Floyd, Mike and Michelle Carter and Eddie and Wanda Carter; 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. O'Shields was predeceased by two brothers, Charlie Moore Jr. and Eddie J. Moore; a grandaughter, Jennifer Rebecca Fowler, and a son-in-law, James H. "Jimbo" Fowler Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Brown's Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. John Lee, the Rev. Brad Goodale, and the Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cliff Fowler, Greg Lawson, Jamey Waters, Rob Dunn, John Andrew Goodale and Charlie Kelly. The following are asked to assemble at the church to form the honorary escort: Jesse Fleming, Charlie Wilson, Howard Boulware, Dennis Moore, Ronnie Moore, Russell Moore, Mike Tucker, Ted Crocker, Lewis Davis, Donald Hope Howell, Tommy Nave, Bruce Sparks, Glen Crisp, Ben Eller, Lewis O'Shields Jr. Terry Humphries and Donald Crocker. Members of the ADY Sunday School Class of Brown's Creek Baptist Church and the Staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina, Union, are asked to sit in a group. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
