Description	:	Lilly Katherine Schmidt was born November 21, 1885 at St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on may 6, 1977, at the Bethseda Care Center in Blue Hill at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 15 days. With her parents, she moved to the Blue Hill Community at the age of 7 and made their home south of Blue Hill. In 1908 she became the wife of Frank Schmidt and they made their home one mile southwest of Blue Hill and in 1945 moved to the village of Blue Hill. To this union... Read More	Lilly Katherine Schmidt was born November 21, 1885 at St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on may 6, 1977, at the Bethseda Care Center in Blue Hill at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 15 days. With her parents, she moved to the Blue Hill Community at the age of 7 and made their home south of Blue Hill. In 1908 she became the wife of Frank Schmidt and they made their home one mile southwest of Blue Hill and in 1945 moved to the village of Blue Hill. To this union was born seven children, five of which live to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Verna Kort, and one son, Howard. Also, one brother, Oscar, and a sister, Mrs. Alma Koepke. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Nitzel and Mrs. Leola Buss of Greely (sic), Colo., and Mrs. Lucille Rothlisberger of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; tow sons, Ervin of Coos Bay, Ore. and Edgar of Ayr; also 22 grand children and 30 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Kort of Blue Hill and Mrs. Emma Clark of Central City, Neb.; one brother, William Dahms of Airway Heights, Washington, and many other relatives and friends. She was baptized in infancy at Old Trinity Church, St. Louis, Missouri, on Jan 1, 1886. She expressed her faith in the rite of Confirmation at Trinity, Blue Hill, on April 3, 1900. She was a long-time member of Trinity Ladies Aid. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill on May 10, 1977, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Elton Temme officiating. Dale Schmidt was soloist with Alvin Willems as organist. Pallbearers were: Richard Schmidt, Milton Nitzel, Glenmore Krueger, Keith Schmidt, Keith Kort, and Richard Eichacker. Burial was in the Blue Hill Cemetery with Merten Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. *source unknown
