Description	:	Greenville - Linda "MeMa" Andrews Bowers, 93, passed peacefully into the gates of Heaven at home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Robert Allen Bowers. Born on August 25, 1917, in South Hill, VA, she was the daughter of Thomas and Cornelia Andrews. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Bowers is survived by her son, Bob Bowers and wife, Beverly, of Waterloo, SC; daughter, Shirley Cooke and husband, Jimmy and daughter Lil Glenn all of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Csiki, of Richmond, VA; and her very... Read More	Greenville - Linda "MeMa" Andrews Bowers, 93, passed peacefully into the gates of Heaven at home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Robert Allen Bowers. Born on August 25, 1917, in South Hill, VA, she was the daughter of Thomas and Cornelia Andrews. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Bowers is survived by her son, Bob Bowers and wife, Beverly, of Waterloo, SC; daughter, Shirley Cooke and husband, Jimmy and daughter Lil Glenn all of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Csiki, of Richmond, VA; and her very special nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Bowers. Mrs. Bowers left a legacy of her love and compassion for others that showed in every smile, tear, and prayer. She loved everyone unconditionally and was loved by all that knew her. She retired at the age of 86 after 30 years of service at the Mothers Morning Out program of White Oak Baptist Church. There she gave love and tender care to those children she considered her own. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2011 beginning at 1:30pm at White Oak Baptist Church, 1805 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC with a "Celebration of Life" service at 3:00pm. Burial will be at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Oak Baptist Church, 1805 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29609. The family would like to thank Lutheran Hospice, who cared for Linda through the last 2 months of her life. Thank you for your kindness and gentle spirit that touched all of our lives.
