Llewellyn had two brothers Lorenzo Linville and Leonidas Grear and a sister Mary Ann Louisa. His father John was listed as a Physician on the 1860 census in Keokuk County and died in 1861 in Keokuk Co. Iowa, making Llewellyn around three years old. His father John was listed as a Physician on the 1860 census in Keokuk County and died in 1861 in Keokuk Co. Iowa, making Llewellyn around three years old. After his fathers death his mother married George Paris Ellis a Blacksmith on February 15, 1863 in Springfield, Iowa. Where the family grew, and Llewellyn added three half-brothers Solomon Linville Ellis, Robert Theodore Ellis and David Ellis (born in 1867 died in 1868 burial place unknown this time) and three half-sisters Avis Amelia Ellis Bourke, Mable Ellis Deuel, and Margaret Ellis (born in 1863 died in 1864 15 months old burial place also unknown at this time). All appear on the 1870 census, by 1880 Llewellyn no longer appears with his family. Per the 1900 census Llewellyn and his mother Frances Ellis are living in Gosper County, Muddy Creek, Nebraska his occupation is a farmer. In 1910 Llewellyn is found in Elwood, Nebraska working odd jobs as a laborer per the census. On November 30, 1919 he married Mary Louise Gruber Bullers widow of William Birdsall Bullers who died in 1914 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa. Mary brought to their relationship four grown sons William, Perry, John and Thomas. John and Thomas signed as witnesses on their marriage license. Gus became a beloved member of the Bullers family and to this day is still addressed as Grandpa Gus. On the 1925 census Gus and Mary were still in Iowa. Mary and Gus resided on a ranch outside of Elwood, NE until they were unable to care for themselves and then moved to the Lady Gray Home in Beatrice, Nebraska. Mary died shortly after they moved there on October 12, 1945. She was brought back to Iowa and buried with her first husband William Bullers. Llewellyn Augustus Wilson “Gus” also passed away at the Lady Gray Home in Beatrice, Nebraska on March 3, 1947 and was laid to rest at the Elwood Cemetery in Elwood, Nebraska.
