Moe, 86, left us for better fishing and taller trees. He was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on June 16, 1929, to Harry and Viola Moe. At the age of one, his family moved to Libby. Lloyd spent his childhood in south Libby and later in the Pleasant Valley and Fisher River area. Lloyd met the love of his life, Peggy Wilson, in 1948, while she was casting a worm into the Fisher River. They were married on July 24, 1949. They raised four children. Lloyd’s occupation was a gypo logger and the original builder and owner of the Whistle Stop Bar, (Kickin Horse). Later in life, Lloyd and Peggy managed the Treasure Manor for 10 years. He also got to see a lot of Montana while piloting with friend, Gary Wood, for Pumco Construction. A better man could not be found. He was full of generosity, compassion and care for the down and out whether it be human or animal. Lloyd found special comfort and happiness with backyard fish frys and time spent with family and friends. Lloyd is preceded in death by his father, mother and stepfather, Clarence Karnes. He is survived by his wife Peggy of 66 years; children Jon (Donna) of Libby, Debbie (Mark) Decker of Libby, Kelly Moe (Allan Gerhart) of Kalispell and Lloyd Moe of Post Falls, Idaho; and brother Harry (Irene) Moe; grandchildren Holly, Bill, Jessica, Kristy, Lisa, Kallie, Marko, Ariel and numerous great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Libby Christian Church Thursday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
