He was born on March 20, 1913, in Roscoe, Missouri, the son of William and Nancy Ford. He grew up in that area and attended school. Ford, 79, passed away at the Bozeman Care Center Thursday morning. He was born on March 20, 1913, in Roscoe, Missouri, the son of William and Nancy Ford. He grew up in that area and attended school. Lloyd was a salesman as a young man and traveled from coast to coast. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in March of 1942 and during WWII he took part in the Battle of Atu in the Aleutian Islands. He received numerous decorations during the war and was discharged in 1946. Lloyd joined the American Legion Post at Mouat Lake Camp at Nye as a charter member and later transferred his membership to Post 19 of Big Timber and was a member for over 30 years. He was a life member of the Reed Point VFW. On January 23, 1948, he married Dorothy Danforth in Billings. They made their home in Fishtail until 1954 when they moved to Mouat Lake Camp where Lloyd worked as a carpenter maintenance foreman for the mine operated by the American Chrome Company for eight years. In 1962 they moved to Melville where they owned and operated the Big Sky Corner Store and Lunch Room. Lloyd was admitted to Fort Harrison Veteran Hospital on April 20 and later transferred to the Bozeman Care Center on May 1. Survivors include his wife of Melville; one daughter and her husband Linda and Glen Westerbvelt and grandsons Lee, of the U. S. Coast Guard, and Lloyd of Colstrip; a son and his wife, John and Susan and granddaughter Brenda and grandson, Brent of Maplewood, Missouri; a sister Olive, Mrs. Albet Hunzicher of Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and a son, Clinton Walker. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 23 from the Lowry Chapel with the Reverend James Holmlund officiating. Music was provided by soloist James Hanson and organist, Pam Rein. Selections were "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "Home On the Range". Casket bearers were Matt Cremer, Leo Cremer, Bud Chitwood Dick Huck, Norris Johnson, and John Decock. Burial, with military honors by the American Legion Post 19, was in Mountain View Cemetery.
