Description	:	Last rites were held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church for Lloyd E. Babcock, prominent Odebolt man. The Rev. H.M. Burns officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Vernon Down, Lawrence Down, Amos Wagner, Ralph Wagner, James Cranston and Kermit Johnson. Members of the Roose Post of the American Legion conducted the military service. Mrs. Marion Hix accompanied Mrs. Barbara Mason who sang, "Perfect Day" and "Ivory Palaces." Lloyd Edley Babcock, son of Mrs. Eva Babock and the late Elmer E. Babcock, was born May 28, 1896, on the farm northeast of Odebolt, where he resided most of his life. He passed from this world at 12:50 a.m. on June 15, 1951, in the Ida Grove hospital. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 55 years and 18 days. He graduated from the Odebolt high school in 1915 and assisted his father on the farm until he left for army service in 1918. He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Lutz of Jesup on June 10, 1918 and to this sacred union three children were born. They are Willis Edley of Odebolt, Joyce Virginia of Ames and Austin Elmer, who has been farming with his father. Mr. Babcock was a loyal member of the Odebolt Methodist church, a charter member of the Roose Post of the American Legion, member of the the Wheeler lodge, No. 398 AF. and AM., Sioux City Consistory No. 5, and the Abu Bekr Shrine. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved widow and three children, two grandchildren, Randy and Rickie Babcock, his mother, Mrs. Eva Babcock and two sisters, Mrs. L.A. Story of Odebolt and Mrs. Florence Hoaglund of Ida Grove. Also a brother Guy V. Babcock of Galva, a number of nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
