Lloyd was born April 16, 1927 in Elwood, Nebraska, the second of seven children of George Henry and Ethel Arvilla (Taylor) Steinbrink. Lloyd received his primary education from Eustis, Nebraska and then attended Loomis Public School, graduating from Loomis High School with the class of 1945. Following his education, Lloyd served his country in the United States Army during WW II until his honorable discharge on December 29, 1946. Following his service, Lloyd returned home to Phelps County and was employed at the Loomis Egg CO-OP. On June 16, 1951 he was united in marriage to June Frances Ann Hubbard at Holdrege and to this union six children were born: Belinda, Gail, Judy, Michael, Marsha and Tera. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Lloyd was employed at Holdrege Cold Storage and later worked in maintenance for the Nebraska Department of Roads for 27 years until his retirement in 1991. Following his retirement, Lloyd worked for Daniel Verbeck seasonally on the farm. Lloyd was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, member of the American Legion Post # 66 and past Commander of the V.F.W. in Holdrege. Lloyd also enjoyed being active with the Color Guard in local parades and fishing in his spare time. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, June of Holdrege; six children: Belinda Mellick and her husband, Harold of Lincoln, Nebraska, Gail Kehr of Hastings, Nebraska, Judy Steinbrink of Holdrege, Michael Steinbrink and his wife, Mary of Omaha, Nebraska, Marsha Steinbrink of Holdrege and Tera Breinig and her husband, Warren of Holdrege; seven grandchildren: Jeff Mellick, Timothy, Andy and Melissa Kehr, Sydney and Dalton Breinig, and Emma Steinbrink; two sisters: Betty Klepper of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Thelma Schultz of Sidney, Nebraska; four brothers: Eldon Steinbrink and his wife, Pauline of Loomis, Nebraska, Rex Steinbrink and his wife, Twyla of Trenton, Nebraska, Paul Steinbrink and his wife, Diane of Kearney, Nebraska and Roger Steinbrink; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Jerry Kehr; two brothers-in-law: Covert "Pat" Klepper and Bill Schultz and sister-in-law, Minnette Steinbrink.
