F. M. Branic. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery FORMER SHSLBYVILLE BOY KILLED IN MONTANA Merton Goe, of Montana, oldest son of J. W. Goe of Shelby ville, was shot, dying Friday night, according to telegrams received by relatives here and at Shelbyville. No further particulars concerning the shooting, whether accidental or otherwise, have been received at our press hour. In addition to relatives at Shelbville, deceased has a sister, Mrs. James Maupin, in Shelbina, who received a telegram Saturday morning informing her of the death. Another message was received Monday, stating that the body would be shipped from Belle Fourche, S. D., that day, and it is expected to reach here sometime Wednesday. Young Goe was 22 years of age on June 16th, last, and left Shelbyville three years ago, going to Gordon, Neb., where he had employment for a time. About a year ago he went to Pinicle, Montana, and has been employed on a ranch there. The latter place is 65 miles from Belle Fourche, S D., the nearest railroad point. The father had received a letter from his son on Thursday, the day before the death, in which Merton said he was enjoying the best of health and weighed about 200 pounds. He wanted his father to come out and spend several weeks with him, saying that he liked the country and his work fine, and that he expected to stay there thru the coming winter. The news of his death the next day, therefore, was a great shock. No funeral arrangements have been made at this time.
