Death resulted from pneumonia after a brief illness. Mrs. Goe was only thirty-nine years old but if it is true that we live in deeds and not years, hers has been a long, long life. She was a devoted wife and an equally devoted mother, a beautiful character, who lived life to it's fullest in love and self sacrifice. To the bereaved family the tenderest sympathy of the community goes out. Mary Alice Pulse was born in Knox County, Missouri, on Aug. 16, 1876, and died at their home, one mile east of Shelbyville on Monday, Mar. 13, 1916, age 39 years, 6 months and 27 days. She was married in 1893 to James W. Goe, who with the seven children survive her. The children are Mrs. Harry Woods of Kansas City, Mrs. Arch Weems of near Kirby, and Miss Georgia, Merton, Lee, Dude and Weldon of the home. Also two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Roy Engle of Kansas City and Mrs. Walter Sherwood of Clarence, E. Pulse of Montana and Dave Pulse of Ten Mile. Funeral services will be held at the Shelbyville Christian Church, of which she was a member, this afternoon. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
