Lloyd was born on February 13, 1927 in rural Otter Creek, North Dakota to Albert and Hattie (Guenthner) Huber. He was baptized on February 14, 1927 at home. Lloyd attended school in rural Otter Creek. He was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Otter Creek where he also married Emma Gerving on November 14, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Otter Creek area and had seven children. Lloyd and Emma moved to New Salem in 1985 and Lloyd retired from farming in 1987. They later moved to Hazen in 2005. Lloyd served on the Morton County Resources Board for 18 years, on the Spring Brook school board and held various positions in the church. His favorite hobby was raising Belgian horses and restoring horse drawn machinery and wagons. Lloyd is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Emma of Hazen; his 7 children, 15 grandchildren, one sister, one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Heidi Huber; his brothers, Melwon (Ella), Vernon and Arles (Betty); his sister, Idell (Norman) Albers; and two brothers-in-law, Henry (Betty) Gerving and Archie Grosz.
