Married: Nov. 12, 1932, she married Edwin Neeman in Rockport, Mo. He died in 1963. Married: Aug. 20, 1966, to Leo Shada. Lived with first husband in Burwell, for a short time in Salem, Mo., and then in the Wood River and Shelton areas; worked at the Cornhusker Ordnance Plant during the war years; began farming late in 1945 near Shelton, later farmed south of Wood River; left the farm in 1952, moved to Shelton; moved to Kearney, 1962; worked at McCue's Produce Store in Kearney, 1964-1979. At the time of second marriage, joined St. George Greek Orthodox Church; served as church treasurer for 20 years. Survivors include: husband; sons, J.E. Neeman of North Loup and Lloyd Neeman of West Point; daughter, Eleanor Peck of Columbus; brothers, Carl Allen of Grand Island and Earl Allen of Hopewell, Va.; sister, Mary Mead of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; also daughters-in-law, Karen Neeman of North Loup and Judy Neeman of West Point; sisters-in-law, Penny Allen of Grand Island and Opal Allen of Hopewell; and brother-in-law, Clyde Mead of Grand Island. Was preceded in death by her first husband; two brothers, two sisters, two grandsons and a great-great-granddaughter. Kearney Hub, 24 January, 2005.
