Description	:	DEARBORN, Mich. — Lois A. Dankert, 89, of Dearborn, formerly of Columbus, Neb., died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Oakwood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Dearborn. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Michael Klatt officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Worms, Neb. Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus is in charge of the arrangements. Lois A. Dankert was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Platte County, Neb., to George and Anna “Louisa” (Schutte) Dirks. She attended District 10 and Christ Lutheran schools. On May 5, 1951, Lois married Ernest Dankert at Christ Lutheran Church. She lived in the Worms community from 1951 to 1959. After Ernest passed away in 1958, Lois returned to Columbus in 1959. She was a skilled seamstress and had her own custom drapery business for many years. Lois was a founding member of and taught Sunday School at Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed walking and growing her own vegetables in her garden. Lois is survived by her daughter, Peggy Dankert of Detroit; sons and daughter-in-law, Neil and Jennifer (Evans) Dankert of Elm Creek, Neb., and Kevin Dankert of Inman, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Jerry White of Lincoln; and sister-in-law, Esther Dirks of Columbus. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louisa Dirks; husband, Ernest Dankert; and brother, Milton H. Dirks.
