Description	:	Lois A. (Underwood) Hayter Lois A. (Underwood) Hayter, 92 of Springfield passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011. She was born December 21, 1918 in Everton, MO to Wm. Luther and Ebbie (Grisham) Underwood. Lois graduated from Everton High School in 1937. Lois and her husband, Roy were owners of Hayter's Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of the Master Plumbers Women's Auxiliary; and enjoyed gardening, fishing and the outdoors. Lois rarely met a stranger and was loved by everyone. (Underwood) Hayter, 92 of Springfield passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011. She was born December 21, 1918 in Everton, MO to Wm. Luther and Ebbie (Grisham) Underwood. Lois graduated from Everton High School in 1937. Lois and her husband, Roy were owners of Hayter's Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of the Master Plumbers Women's Auxiliary; and enjoyed gardening, fishing and the outdoors. Lois rarely met a stranger and was loved by everyone. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy; a daughter, Jo Metz; a sister, Mildred Spencer; a brother, Hubert Lee Underwood; and one granddaughter. Surviving Lois are her daughters, Roberta Hurd and Kay Rutledge of Springfield, Peggy Hayter and Lori Johnson of San Jose, CA, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a brother Bill Underwood and his wife Jean; a son-in-law, Leonard Metz; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Swinney and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 10 A.M. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield, MO with interment to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Family has requested memorial donation in Lois's name be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery or St. John's Hospice, 1570 W. Battlefield, Springfield, MO 65807.
