Description	:	BRITT -Lois Gayken, 67, passed away Saturday (Dec. 11, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Britt, with Pastor Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday. There be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Lois, the daughter of Leo and Fay Castle Clark, was born March 30, 1932, in Britt. She attended Britt school and graduated from Britt High School in 1950. Lois was united in marriage with Lester Gayken in 1951 in Stockton, Calif. The family moved to Britt in 1952 and has resided there since then. Lois was employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for 23 years, retiring in 1994. Lois was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt. She enjoyed hunting for antiques and looking after her family and friends. Lois is survived by her husband, Lester, of Britt; son, Robert, of Roundtop, Texas; daughter, Charlla, of Britt; son, James, of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Paul, Erik and Beth; two great grandchildren, Austin and Caitlyn; a sister, Jane Rains, of Glendale, Ariz.; and a brother, Leo Clark Jr., of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and one brother.
