Read More	Naico, Lois Mabel Swalley was born April 8, 1914 in Essex, Iowa to Harry L. Swalley and Carrie E. (Brown) Swalley. She died February 4, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. She was 90 years old. Lois attended school at Essex, Iowa until the 8th grade. On December 26, 1931 she was united in marriage to Harry C. Naico in Clarinda, Iowa. The couple made their home in Essex. Lois lived her entire life there until six years ago when she moved to the Good Samaritan Care Center. Lois worked at Moores Café in Essex, Mount Arbor Nursery in Shenandoah and the Gas Lamp Restaurant in Essex. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Essex and a member of the Ladies Guild of the church. She was a great seamstress and she enjoyed doing needlework and quilting. Lois also loved flowers, ceramics and making her wonderful bread and rolls. A surprise birthday party was held for her 90th birthday in April of 2004, at which all of her descendants were in attendance. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Harry; son Joseph Naico and daughter-in-law Mary Naico; son Jerry Naico; father, Harry Swalley; mother, Carrie Swalley; mother-in-law, Laura Swalley; brothers, Harold and John and sisters, Edna, Fannie and Garnet. She is survived by son, Harry Donald and wife Pat of Okeechobee, Florida; son, Kenneth and wife Dixie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son, Bob and wife Betty of Essex, Iowa; son, Jim and wife Sharen of Robert Lee, Texas; daughter, Maralyn Naico of Arvada, Colorado; daughter, Judith and husband Boyd Tracy of Neenah, Wisconsin; daughter Donna and husband John Roop of Fairfax, Missouri; daughter, Kay and husband Roger Green of Tarkio, Missouri; sister-in-law, Thelma Swalley of Narees, Florida; 25 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; longtime family friend, Bernadine Post of Arvada, Colorado; as well as a host of other family and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa. Words of comfort were given by Lois's grandson, Rev. Pat Ryan. Attending the memory register was Catherine C. Ross. Music selections were "In The Garden" and "You Raise Me Up". Honorary casket bearers were Donald Naico, Kenneth Naico, Robert Naico, Jim Naico, Boyd Tracy, John Roop and Roger Green. Inurnment will be in the Essex Cemetery. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.hackettlivingstonfuneralhome.com. Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
