Lois M. Gross, 87, of Brooklyn, died Monday, September 6, 1999, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell. Funeral Services from Mrs. Gross were held at 2 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 1999, at the Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn. Rev. William Daylong officiated and the organist was Angie Hawkins. Casket-Bearers were Lyle Carpenter, Steven Kies, Ron Vercande, Dennis Vercande, and Ed Gross. Interment was in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Nevenhoven Funeral Services of Brooklyn were in charge of arrangements. Lois Mae Kann Gross, daughter of William Kann and Maude Robey Kann, was born June 19, 1912, at Brooklyn, Iowa. Lois received her education in a rural school. She worked in homes in the Brooklyn area, restaurants, and for many years at the Grinnell Jacket Factory. On October 16, 1949, Lois married Alvin R. Wenger in the Presbyterian Parsonage in Brooklyn. Mr. Wenger died July 8, 1969. On November 5, 1973, she married Kenneth Delbert Gross in Brooklyn. Mr. Gross died September 17, 1985. Mrs. Gross was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the UMW. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and two brothers, Albert Kann and Harold Kann. Surviving are her sister, Maxine Vercande and her husband, Pat, of Brooklyn, nieces and nephews.
