Description	:	Lois May (Coulter) Poulton died unexpectantly on March 14, 2017, at her home in Lockwood. She lived a very full life right up until the end. Lois was born June 19, 1924, in Werner, ND to Joseph S and Eva May Coulter. At a young age she moved to Jordan with her Mom and siblings and was raised in the Brusett Community with her family combined with the Swanser family. Read More	Lois May (Coulter) Poulton died unexpectantly on March 14, 2017, at her home in Lockwood. She lived a very full life right up until the end. Lois was born June 19, 1924, in Werner, ND to Joseph S and Eva May Coulter. At a young age she moved to Jordan with her Mom and siblings and was raised in the Brusett Community with her family combined with the Swanser family. After graduating from Garfield County High School in 1943, she worked for the AAA in Jordan, Baker and Terry waiting for our Dad, Charles F. Poulton to return from 3 plus years overseas in the war. They married in Miles City, Mt. on October 17, 1945, 12 days after he was discharged from the army. They ranched in the Brusett area until moving to Winnett in 1950. While in Winnett for the next 54 years, she owned and operated 2 cafes, managed the State liquor store, owned a variety store, Town of Winnett City Clerk for 17 years, Petroleum County Justice of Peace for 19 years and drove school bus. She was a founding member of the Winnett Lions Club and continued being involved with the Heights Lions club upon moving to Billings. She was also involved with American Legion Auxiliary, VFW in Jordan, Rebeccas and Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Winnett and the Grace United Methodist Church in Billings. Until the day before she passed, she was an active member of Circuit, a ladies exercise group. She was preceded in death by her parents, step dad Lawrence A. Swanser, brothers Willard and Kenneth Coulter, sisters Dora Swanser and Viola Ware. Step brothers Loney and John Swanser and step sisters Francis Hunter and Carol Pruse. Grandson Ben Burns and Great grandson Malik Poulton. She is survived by daughter Sharon Poulton of Billings, Mt and son Lary (Sue) Poulton of Malta, Mt. Grandchildren Angie (Chuck) Bauer of Laramie, Wy, Robert (Tana) Wilkerson of Billings, Cory (Lara) Poulton of Cut Bank, Mt, Jori McChesney of Seattle, Wa, and Amy (Josh) Claypool of Bellingham, Wa. And a very special sister in law Ruth Coulter of Brusett. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday March 18, 2017 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 1935 Ave B in Billings, Montana. Final interment will be at Terrace Gardens Cemetery by family members.
