She married Gerald L. Eagle on Jan. 6, 1995 in Bremerton. She was head cook and nutritionist at Horton Nursing Home in Bremerton and later at Belmont Terrace. She retired in 1973, after 20 years. She was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Buffalo, Mont., to Joseph and Vera (Kessel) Avery. She grew up in Shelton. She married William Graffe on May 15, 1940, in Shelton. He preceded her in death in 1986. She married Gerald L. Eagle on Jan. 6, 1995 in Bremerton. She was head cook and nutritionist at Horton Nursing Home in Bremerton and later at Belmont Terrace. She retired in 1973, after 20 years. She was a member of the Christian Life Center in Port Orchard and was a member of the Prime Timers. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Alice Lyman of Bremerton; three stepdaughters, Jenny Cordiner of Astoria, Ore., Susan Johnson of Torance, Calif., and Julie Crieghton of La Mirada, Calif.; one stepson, John Eagle La Marsh of Shelton; three sisters, Betty Crickmer of Bremerton, Josephine Trotter of Grandbury, Texas, and Jeanette Cox of Baker City, Ore.; three brothers, Lee Avery of Elma, Lawrence Avery of Cosmopolis, Wash. and Sam Avery of Yakima; and six stepgrandchildren. A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at the Christian Life Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Life Center, 1780 SE Lincoln Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366.
