July 29, 1941, in Hastings, Nebraska, she married Ivan Hesman. They farmed near Pauline, Nebraska, then moved to Blue Hill after retiring. Lola became a resident at Community Care in Blue Hill, Nebraska, on August 8, 1994. Ivan died August 13, 1994, at Community Care, Blue Hill. Lola was a member of Helping Hand Club and an 11-year member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #187, Nelson, Nebraska. Survivors include three daughters, Norma Krueger and her husband, Harold (Wally)of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Donna Menke and her husband, Jim, of Nelson, Nebraska, and Linda Kohmetscher and her husband, Kenneth (Itch) of Madrid, Nebraska; two sons, Dennis and his wife, Cheryl, of Arlington, Nebraska, and Paul and his wife, Joyce, of Sylmar, California; two sisters, Fern Thompson of Hastings, Nebraska, and Rena Hitch of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 8, 1994, at 11 a.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary Chapel in Blue Hill, Nebraska, with the Rev. Baldeo Singh officiating. Organist was Marlys Kort. "Abide With Me" was sung by Cheryl Hesman and Joleen Cameron. Pallbearers were Don Van Matre, Gary Tuttle, Steve Hesman, Richard Synek, Roger Hesman and Dean Haba.
