In the removal of our sister, our community loses one of its most highly respected citizens. The Baptist Church sustains a great loss, and her family an irreparable loss. Her illness of seven weeks appears to have been more that the three attending physicians could cope with. Mrs Brown possessed a sweet disposition, and grace of God produced a lovely character. Being endowed with a very rich and sweet voice, she was always heard with pleasure and profit, and will be long remembered for her sweet singing: the choir will always be imcomplete without her. The writer had the privilege of baptizing and receiving her and her husband into the church 28 Feb 1904. She leaves to mourn their sad loss a sorrow-stricken husband, six children, her father, mother and three brothers and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral service was held in the Torbrook Church on 11 Sept, conducted by her pastor, who spoke from Rev. 1:8. A great concourse of people were in attendance.
