Description	:	Loraine McVey, died early Monday, April 10, 2000 at Brittany Manor in Midland. Born in Beaverton, June 30, 1912, she was the daughter of Loren and Maude Morris Budge. She attended school in Beaverton and also attended Central Michigan Normal in Mt. Pleasant. In 1929, Loraine was selected as Miss Michigan and participated in the Miss America Pageant which was held that year in Baltimore. Loraine married Tyler McVey in 1937 and they moved to California. Read More	Loraine McVey, died early Monday, April 10, 2000 at Brittany Manor in Midland. Born in Beaverton, June 30, 1912, she was the daughter of Loren and Maude Morris Budge. She attended school in Beaverton and also attended Central Michigan Normal in Mt. Pleasant. In 1929, Loraine was selected as Miss Michigan and participated in the Miss America Pageant which was held that year in Baltimore. Loraine married Tyler McVey in 1937 and they moved to California. She has been a resident of Midland for the past 20 years, since her retirement. Surviving are one daughter, Andrea and husband Robert Burditt. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Edith Darnell. The family will hold a memorial service for Loraine at the Beaverton First Presbyterian Church, at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Karen Blatt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials, in Loraine's name, can be made to the Midland County Council on Aging. The Smith-Miner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
