Description	:	Loraine M. Johnson, 97, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown at the age of 97. Loraine M. Johnson, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Tauer) Bohls, was born on November 3, 1910 at Kranzburg, South Dakota. She attended school in Goodwin, South Dakota; in 1929 the family moved to Watertown. She was united in marriage to William E. Johnson November 3, 1931 at Watertown. Loraine was employed at Bartron Hospital for 5 years; later at Spies Super Valu for 26 years and for the American Greeting Card Company for 6 years.... Read More	Loraine M. Johnson, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Tauer) Bohls, was born on November 3, 1910 at Kranzburg, South Dakota. She attended school in Goodwin, South Dakota; in 1929 the family moved to Watertown. She was united in marriage to William E. Johnson November 3, 1931 at Watertown. Loraine was employed at Bartron Hospital for 5 years; later at Spies Super Valu for 26 years and for the American Greeting Card Company for 6 years. Loraine also was employed at Zesto Drive Inn for some time; and worked at the shipyards in Richmond, California. She retired in 1987. Loraine enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking. In 1948 Loraine and her father planted two apple trees in the backyard of their home on 4th St. The apple trees grew and flourished through the years and Loraine made everything imaginable from the apples for family and friends to share. The trees were a very important part in the family's lives because of Loraine. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and belonged to the Little Flower Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leo Bohls; and four sisters, Barb Gatchell, Susie Trandall, Elizabeth Wirtz and Mary Hanson. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Shirley) Johnson of Watertown, SD, Dr. Robert Johnson of Huron, SD and Russell Johnson of Boulder, CO; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Fr. Jim Bream will be the celebrant with music provided by the Immaculate Conception Church Choir. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Arrangements by Wight, Comes and Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
