November 16, 2009, at Central City Care Center, Central City, Nebraska. Butch was 83 years of age having been born on November 9, 1927, in Silver Creek, Nebraska to George W.F. and Alice M. M. (Mills) Butcher. Butch grew up in Silver Creek, Nebraska until the age of 10, when the family moved to Central City. He received his education in the Central City Public Schools. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1945, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1947. He was united in marriage to Betty Brandenburg on Jan. 30, 1949 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple lived in Central City, Nebraska. Lorance was employed by L.L. Haddix Welding Shop for 21 years, until 1969, when he started Community Welding until he retired in 1989. The couple moved to Marquette, Nebraska, then back to Central City, Nebraska and finally to Clarks, Nebraska until last January of 2009 when Lorance moved to Central City Care Center, Central City, Nebraska. Lorance was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Aurora, Nebraska and he served 21 years on the Central City, Nebraska Volunteer Fire Department. Butch was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents, George and Alice Butcher; his wife, Betty Butcher; infant daughter, Debra Marie Butcher; brothers, Clyde, Leo, and Leanard Butcher and sisters, Birdie Bush, Louise Stander and Erma Veed. Butch is survived by: sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Butcher of Central City,Nebraska; Scot and Karen Butcher of Marquette, Nebraska; and Russel and Tami Butcher of Central City, Nebraska; daughter, Jacque Stutheit of Lincoln, Nebraska and a host of friends and relatives.
