Description	:	AURORA - Scott Butcher, 69, of Aurora, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Pastor Nelson Rossi will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Scott Edward Butcher, the son of Lorance and Betty (Brandenburg) Butcher, was born in Central City on Dec. 13, 1952, and passed away in Omaha on Jan. 21, 2022, at the age of 69. Scott graduated from Central City High School, Class of 1971. He then went to Hastings Tech in Hastings taking a two-year welding course, finishing in nine months then went to work for Century Manufacturing in Aurora. Scott was married to Karen Loftis on July 1, 1972. They had three children, Christopher, Michael and Jessica. Scott also worked as a book salesman, a hardware manager at the Aurora Mall, for Atlantic Homes in Central City and fpr Danish Oak in Hampton. Scott's hobbies included his horses, and all his pets as well as spending time with Izzy and Kiara. He enjoyed making things for others, Bible studies and teaching others about God. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen, of Aurora; three children, Christopher of Omaha, Michael of Tecumseh and Jessica (Daniel) Stanphill, Isabella and Kiara of Marquette; and granddaughters, Daizie of Grand Island and Dominic of Libby, Mont. He is also survived by two brothers, Larry Butcher and Russ (Tami) Butcher, both of Central City; and a sister, Jacque Stutheit of Virginia, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Published by The Grand Island Independent on Jan. 25, 2022.
