Crowder Dead Loren E. Crowder, a resident of this vicinity for 59 years, died at 12:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home in this city after being in ill health for the past five years. He was 65 years old. Mr. Crowder returned to his home only Wednesday of last week after a two-weeks stay in Mt. Carmel hospital. He was formerly a miner and a farmer. He was forced to retire from the farm five years ago on account of ill health. He was born in Covington, Indiana, April 15, 1873, and came to this vicinity when six years of age. Funeral services were held at the Cherokee Methodist church on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. O.W. Zendler of Girard officiating. Interment was in the Cherokee cemetery. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Dora Crowder; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Imhof and Mrs. Gladys Humble, both of Cherokee; three sons, Arthur and Fred Crowder of the home and Carl Crowder of Baxter Springs; two brothers, Charles Crowder of Cherokee and Andrew Crowder of Bartlesville, Okla., and seven grandchildren.
