Description	:	Lorena Jane Hume, daughter of Elizabeth Rachel Sinclair, was born August 20, 1877, at Bancroft, Nebraska and passed away on March 14, 1954, at the Lynch hospital at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 22 days. She was married to Alex Hume at Hartington, Ne. in 1895. In the spring of 1897 they moved to Boyd County to a homestead at Gross, NE. Read More	Lorena Jane Hume, daughter of Elizabeth Rachel Sinclair, was born August 20, 1877, at Bancroft, Nebraska and passed away on March 14, 1954, at the Lynch hospital at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 22 days. She was married to Alex Hume at Hartington, Ne. in 1895. In the spring of 1897 they moved to Boyd County to a homestead at Gross, NE. Nine children were born to the couple, with one child dying in infancy and 2 others, Elsie & Merle dying in adulthood. In 1946, they moved from Gross to Spencer and after Alex passed away in 1952, Lorena moved to Lincoln, NE. It was during a recent visit with her sons, Wilbur and "Babe" that she suffered a heart attack and was taken immediately to the Lynch hospital. She is survived by sons, Wilbur of Gross, Tom of Tekamah, Leo of Omaha, Harold of Spencer and two daughters, Mildred White and Ethel Collins, both of Lincoln. Also, two sisters survive her, Ethel Pease of Chamberlain, SD and Myrtle Everett of Woodland Hills, CA., and one brother, Herbert Sinclair of Yankton, SD and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 17th at the Spencer Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Gross Cemetery. Taken from the newspaper clipping.
