Born Oct. 5, 1894, at Eldon to James and Harriett Grey, she had lived in Ottumwa most of her life. She was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church, O.E.S. No. 113, Beauceant, Daughters of the Nile and the Hope Circle of King’s Daughters. She was first married to Samuel Howk who preceded her in death. Jackson, 82, of 610 S. Madison, died Friday at 9 p.m. at Ottumwa Hospital. Born Oct. 5, 1894, at Eldon to James and Harriett Grey, she had lived in Ottumwa most of her life. She was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church, O.E.S. No. 113, Beauceant, Daughters of the Nile and the Hope Circle of King’s Daughters. She was first married to Samuel Howk who preceded her in death. On May 10, 1927, she married John Jackson at Fairfield. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Larry Jackson in California and Elvin Howk of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bertha Goeser of Queen City, Mo. and Say West of Bellgarden, Calif. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Davis Street Christian Church with the Rev. Cecil Simonton officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Elders of the church will serve as pallbearers. The casket will remain at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until Monday at 11 a.m. when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the service. A memorial fund has been established payable to the Davis Street Christian Church.
