Description	:	Lorene Mae (Cockrum) Eastman, age 76, of North Mankato, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, Minn. She was born July 10, 1927, in Osage, Iowa, to Charley and Della (Miller) Cockrum. Lorene was wed to Herbert Blaine Eastman on June 9, 1945, in Osage, Iowa. In 1950, the family moved to Austin when Herbert took employment with Hormel Foods. Lorene spent her early years as a nursing assistant at St. Olaf Hospital and several nursing homes in Austin. Read More	Lorene Mae (Cockrum) Eastman, age 76, of North Mankato, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, Minn. She was born July 10, 1927, in Osage, Iowa, to Charley and Della (Miller) Cockrum. Lorene was wed to Herbert Blaine Eastman on June 9, 1945, in Osage, Iowa. In 1950, the family moved to Austin when Herbert took employment with Hormel Foods. Lorene spent her early years as a nursing assistant at St. Olaf Hospital and several nursing homes in Austin. She remembered those times fondly throughout her life. Later, she and Herbert owned and operated two diet centers in Osage and Decorah, Iowa. Lorene will always be remembered for her ladylike bearing and grace, and her undying devotion to her family. She never missed an opportunity to brag about her grandchildren's accomplishments to anyone who would listen. We will always remember her and cherish her memory throughout our lives. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Forrest Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery in Osage, Iowa. Visitation will be held at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Honorary bearers will be Ryan Steenblock, Jesse Hanf, Tammy Oudekerk, Caroline Oudekerk and Susan Roeder. Casket bearers will be Michael Wilhelmi, Trenton Oudekerk, James Oudekerk, Laurie Hanf, Arianne (Oudekerk) Steenblock, Adam Schoenwetter and Jesse Schoenwetter. She is survived by her husband: Herbert Eastman of North Mankato, Minn.; daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Tim Schoenwetter of Stewartville, Minn.; Jane E. Eastman and Phillip L. Henry of North Mankato, Minn.; sister: Nordicia Tobler of Kansas City, Kan.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin; two brothers and one sister.
