Born in Massies Mill, July 17, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Helen Tyree Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Carlyle Massie Sr. She was a devoted active member of Piney River Baptist Church and had retired from Temperance School after many years of working in the school's cafeteria. Read More	Lorene Wood Massie (Lokey), 73, of Lowesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Massies Mill, July 17, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Helen Tyree Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Carlyle Massie Sr. She was a devoted active member of Piney River Baptist Church and had retired from Temperance School after many years of working in the school's cafeteria. Lokey's culinary expertise and her generous spirit included her activities in her church, and the Women's Auxiliary of Piney River Volunteer Fire Department, the Temperance Ruritan Club, the Nelson County Rotary Club's annual Easter Egg Project, and the Lowesville Extension Homemakers Club. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed and long remembered. Survived by one son, Clinton Carlyle Massie Jr. (Carl) and his wife, Vickie, of Madison Heights; two daughters, Marguerite (Margie) Stiemly and her husband, Gene, of Lowesville, and Sandy Watkins of Maryland; one brother, Carroll Wood and his wife, Kathleen, of Lowesville; two sisters, Regina Cash and her husband, Lincoln, of Lowesville, and Lanice Campbell and her husband, Willie, of Hampton; five grandchildren, Margo, Geoffrey, James, Christina, and Amanda; 10 great-grandchildren; a maternal aunt, Hazel Showalter of Waynesboro; a special friend, Fred Campbell of Piney River; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Billy Wood; one sister, Margaret Kidd; one grandson, Gene Stiemly Jr.; and a son-in-law, Ronald Watkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Piney River Baptist Church by the Rev. W.T. Wright with burial in the Massie/Campbell Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and at other times at her home in Lowesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piney River Baptist Church, 1190 Woodson Road, Lowesville, VA 22951; or the Piney River Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
