Description	:	Lorene V. Brown, 88, of Lincoln, and formerly of Geneva, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Gateway Senior Living. She was born in Fillmore County to Charles and Velma (Kouba) Krejci August 8, 1923. Upon graduation from Geneva High School in 1942, she supported the war effort by working at the stop-nut factory in Lincoln. After his discharge, Lorene married Guy A. Brown Jr. on June 30, 1945. Brown, 88, of Lincoln, and formerly of Geneva, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Gateway Senior Living. She was born in Fillmore County to Charles and Velma (Kouba) Krejci August 8, 1923. Upon graduation from Geneva High School in 1942, she supported the war effort by working at the stop-nut factory in Lincoln. After his discharge, Lorene married Guy A. Brown Jr. on June 30, 1945. They began farming and also assisted with the family nursery business. Lorene was a faithful farm wife, raised a big garden, led a 4-H club and helped in the farming business wherever she could. They attended the Geneva Congregational Church for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, as well as the Grange. She and Guy were members of the committee that compiled and wrote the Fillmore county History. From 1970 to 1984, Guy and Lorene lived in Colorado. Upon Guy’s retirement I 1984, they traveled the country in their motor home, enjoying God’s creation. Lorene enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting gifts for family and friends. Even though she lived the last seven years of her life at Gateway Senior Living, she always had a smile and a kind word for those that crossed her path. She is survived by her son, James Brown; daughter Susan Anderson; grandchildren, Kevin Brown, Rachel Wilson, Erin Smith, Davis Anderson; niece, Sheryl Callahan; nephew, Ken Krejci; cousin, Francis Biba; four great-grandchildren and may relatives and friends.
