Description	:	Ronald Charles Krejci, son of Charles and Velma (Kouba) Krejci, was born on February 6, 1929, on a farm near Fairmont. Read More	Ronald Charles Krejci, son of Charles and Velma (Kouba) Krejci, was born on February 6, 1929, on a farm near Fairmont. After a short bout with cancer, he passed away on that same farm at his home on April 21, 2002, at the age of 73 years, two months and 15 days. He attended school in Exeter after the family had moved there in the early 30's due to a decline in his father's health. they moved back to the farm in 1937 where he attended Country School District 18 and graduated from Geneva High School in 1946. After graduation, he farmed with his father until enlisting into the Army to serve in Korea. He served from August 22, 1951, he was a welder for his unit, and he was discharged on May 2, 1953, at which time he returned to the farm. After returning home, he married Sharon Tutty on March 29, 1960. They started their lives together on the farm that Ron had been born and raised on. to this union three children were born, John Krejci, Sheryl Goc and Ken Krejci. He continued to farm until his failing health limited his activities in 1993. that that time he turned the operation over to his son, Ken, who had been farming with him since the early 80's, and his daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Mick Goc. In 1949, he and several friends started calling square dances in this area. Music was one of his great talents and favorite pastimes. When he wasn't playing in the orchestra, he could be found on the dance floor. He taught his granddaughters how to polka and passed his musical talents to his children and granddaughters. Even with his health slipping, his biggest joy was sending time with his granddaughters. Watching them participate in their activities, when possible, was special for him and them. He also enjoyed fishing, welding, traveling to visit relatives from one coast to the other. Ron and Sharon enjoyed attending professional baseball games. He also liked being the farm gofer after retirement. He served on the Exeter Feeder Board; Master of the Geneva Grange; Fillmore County Weed Board; and the Fairmont Community Coop board. He was also a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Fairmont American Legion and the Fairmont Community church. Preceding him in death were his parents; nephew, Brian Moul; aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, John Krejci and fiance' Cindy Nisley; Sheyl Goc and husband Michael (Mick), and Ken Krejci; granddaughters Jamie and Kelsie Goc; sisters, Lorene Brown and husband, Guy, and Ione Krejci; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley (Tutty) and Donald Moul; nephew James Brown and wife Gloria; niece Susan Anderson; and nephew Bruce Moul and niece Ellen Moul; great-nephews and nieces, cousins, great-great-nephew and many other relatives and friends. Services were held at the Fairmont Community Church on April 25, with the Rev. Betsy Galloway-Carew officiating. Vocalist Delwin V. Myers sang "On Eagles Wings," "How Great Thou Art," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Organist was Nancy Jo Galusha. "Blessing" recorded by the York Area Children's Choir was played. Casket bearers were Francis Jacobsen, Howard Lefler, Dave Bristol, Lambert Hopken, Joe Schelkopf and Roger Pittard. Honorary casket bearers were Norm Ogden, Earl Bleach, Neil Priefert, Gene Nichols, Tanny Reinsch and Rodger Richards. Interment with military honors provided by the Fairmont American Legion and the VFW Honor guard was held at the Fairmont Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 1st, 2002 page 6.
