Description	:	THE CHANUTE TIMES, DECEMBER 29, 1911 OBITUARY--Lorenzo Dow Booe was born in Fountain County, Indiana on January 31, 1830. Died December 20th at his home on 426 West Third. Was united in marriage twice, to the first wife was born one son, R. A. Booe, a banker in Kingman, Indiana, 3 daughters, two of whom live in Indiana, one dead. To the second wife who died 8 years ago was born two sons Ira and Bert who live in Chanute and 4 daughters, two who are dead and two, Mrs. Ed Wilson and Mrs. Lee Margrave who live in Chanute.... Read More	THE CHANUTE TIMES, DECEMBER 29, 1911 OBITUARY--Lorenzo Dow Booe was born in Fountain County, Indiana on January 31, 1830. Died December 20th at his home on 426 West Third. Was united in marriage twice, to the first wife was born one son, R. A. Booe, a banker in Kingman, Indiana, 3 daughters, two of whom live in Indiana, one dead. To the second wife who died 8 years ago was born two sons Ira and Bert who live in Chanute and 4 daughters, two who are dead and two, Mrs. Ed Wilson and Mrs. Lee Margrave who live in Chanute. When the civil war broke oujt he volunteered as a soldier and served until the close, was discharged with an honorable discharge. He united at an early age with the Scotch Prairie Christian Church and was a faithful Christian man saying that he was not afraid to die and that he was going to die and was ready to go. The funeral service was held at the Christian church conducted by Elder Berkeley. The G.A.R. and the G.A.R. ladies paying their last respects to their crusador. He was laid to rest beside his wife in Elmwood Cemetery, who has passed on before. Besides his own children, he is survived by grandchildren, nephews, neices and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
