Description	:	Again, the community of Lawrence was saddened to learn of the death of another senior member Monday. The Lawrence ambulance was called to the home of Loretta Ziggafoos to transport Mrs. Ziggafoos to the hospital in Hastings. On the way to Hastings, she passed on and upon arrival at the hospital, she was pronounced dead. It so happened that daughter, Sherri Buescher, a Lawrence EMT, was in the ambulance for the response. The Lawrence ambulance was called to the home of Loretta Ziggafoos to transport Mrs. Ziggafoos to the hospital in Hastings. Loretta (Karmazin) Ziggafoos was born on May 9, 1931 to Julius and Lillian (Dusatko) Karmazin at Lawrence, Nebraska. She departed this life Monday, June 16, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 83. Loretta graduated from Lawrence High School. She married Alan "Zig" Ziggafoos on April 4, 1951 at Deweese. They lived on a farm north of Lawrence until 1970 when they moved into Lawrence and owned Lawrence Lumber Company until 1993. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Altar Society. She was a past member of the Lawrence Country Club and Lawrence Chamber of Commerce. Loretta is survived by son Ron & wife Angie Ziggafoos, Hastings; daughters Donna & husband Rick Weyers, Ceresco, Debbie husband Terry Beiriger, Phoenix, Arizona, Sherri & husband Gary Buescher, Lawrence; brother Bob Karmazin, Hastings; sister Joan Schneider, Hastings; 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Alan "Zig;" brothers Willard & Eugene Karmazin and sister Mildred Svoboda. Rosary will be Thursday, June 19, 2014, 7:30 p.m. and Mass will be Friday, June 20, 2014, 10:00 a.m. both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence, Nebraska with Father Thomas Bush Officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska. Memorials can be directed to the Lawrence Community Foundation for their community building fund. Visitation will be Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 3:00-9:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Visitation Chapel, Lawrence, Nebraska. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
