Reverend Kelley Pedersen will officiate with burial at St. Rose Cemetery in Crofton, Nebraska. Lorraine Anna Thompson, daughter of George and Anna (Heick) Eckmann, was born February 8, 1928, at her home in Lindy. Doc Swift arrived by horse and buggy from Crofton, in the middle of a blizzard, to deliver her. She attended the Lindy School and graduated from Niobrara High School and went on to get her teaching certificate. She was married to Norman Thompson on December 27, 1948 in Crofton, NE. Five children were born to them: Randy, Karen, Danny, Jodi, and Tara. She lived most of her life in the Lindy area, except for a few years in the 50's when she and Norman loaded up the Studebaker and moved to San Jose, CA, to help pay for baby Karen and the farm. She was a member of the Grey Ladies - loved friends including our very missed Janet. Lorraine and Norman also enjoyed wearing out several motor homes covering most of North America, with their good friends, Billy and Avis Mayberry. She died February 6, 2011 at the Golden Living Center, in Wausa, surrounded by family at the age of 82; just two days short of her 83rd birthday. Survivors include her husband, Norman; her children and their spouses: Randy and Ellie Thompson of Redding, CA; Karen and Fred Steffen of Crofton; Jodi and John Broders of Lindy; Tara and Tom Pavlik of Crofton. Her nine grandchildren: John, Jamie, Andy, Spencer, Christian, Austin, Bobbi, Alyssa, and Kali. And her three great grandchildren: Enzo, Violet, and Miriam. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Danny; brothers, Ray and Herbie; and sisters, Violet, Dorothy, and Helen.
