Read More	Lorraine A. Hirsch, 89 years, of Fremont, NE died December 2, 2010 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. She was born December 11, 1920 at Cedar Rapids, NE to Frank and Laura (Czuba) Matya. She moved to St. Edward, NE at the age of 7. After school she moved to Denver, CO and then Kansas City, MO for a few years before returning to St. Edward. After marriage she moved to North Platte, NE for a couple of years and then to Fremont in 1947. During WWII Lorraine worked at defense plants and North American Aviation in Kansas City, KS and Pratt Whitney in Kansas City, MO. She was a telephone operator in Dayton, OH for 2 years and also worked at J.C. Penney's in Fremont for 2 years in the stockroom. Lorraine married Joseph D. Hirsch October 18, 1946 at St. Edward, NE. He died January 31, 1994. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and a former auxiliary member of FOE #200 and V.F.W. #854. Survivors include: Sons – Ronald (and wife Linda) Hirsch and Fred Hirsch (and special friend, Nancy Bogenreif) all of Fremont; Daughter – Pamela (and husband Fred) Spale of Fremont; Sister – Helen (and husband Earl) Follensbee of Colorado Springs, CO; 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: Parents; Husband, Joseph; 6 Brothers – Lawrence, Thomas, John, Donald, Francis & Joe Matya; Sister – Adeline Mayta; Sister-in-law - Phyllis Mayta; and 2 Grandsons Jeffrey & John Bucklin.
